New Exhibits

Visions of Lewis & Clark, artist-created kites inspired by Lewis & Clark and the people, places, and animals they encountered on their journey. Free, family kite flying on opening day, April 13, at 1 pm.

The Gathering at Tmsmɫl̓

Indigenous people have gathered for thousands of years in the place the Séliš called Tmsmɫl̓. On May 2 & 3, we’ll gather to celebrate traditional and contemporary Indigenous culture with art, demonstrations, food, and more.

Trekker Kids

Trekker Kids is a series of activities and programs for kids and families that celebrate the outdoors of western Montana and the rich history of the Travelers’ Rest site.

Daily Activites

SELF-GUIDED SITE TOUR

Pick up a brochure at the Visitor Center and follow the markers around a half-mile loop trail.

VISITOR CENTER

Exhibits include Seasons of the Salish, Lewis and Clark Expedition Replicas, a diorama of the Expedition’s campsite at Travelers’ Rest, Native American beadwork and handcrafts, natural history specimens and more.

Agents of Discovery App

Be a secret agent! Use the Agents of Discovery app to explore Travelers’ Rest State Park and solve mysteries. Please practice safe social distancing while you look for clues and answer questions with Seaman, Captain Lewis’ dog.
